Alde heating system for cottage trailer — Dom v dorogu

Alde heating system for cottage trailer

Every trailer leaves the factory equipped with a standard Truma heating system, included in the initial price of the travel trailer. It is a very good, affordable system, but it has several drawbacks.

Although the Truma heater runs on gas, its water-heating function (boiler) operates only from a 220 V power supply. If you stop for a short overnight stay in cold weather with no electricity nearby, you will have to run a generator, which must in turn be secured with a bicycle lock. Truma also blows warm air from vents around the perimeter of the trailer, much like a car, which dries the air. The hot Truma unit is installed in an exposed area inside the living space and can cause burns if touched.

The Alde heating system is considerably more convenient and is ordered separately.

It can operate from a 220 V supply without gas in three power modes, from gas with a 12 V power supply, or in combined mode (220 V + gas), automatically selecting the available energy source.

Alde does not blow warm air; instead, it heats radiators just like a home heating system. The travel trailer's living area remains warm, comfortable and cozy. The hot Alde unit is installed in an enclosed location inside the living area, minimizing the chance of accidental contact.

The Alde heater also includes a boiler that supplies hot water to the travel trailer's shower, washbasin and kitchen sink.
