A satellite antenna should not be ordered in Europe. Antennas sold there use a different polarization from the one used in Russia. With an antenna purchased in Europe, you will be able to receive only a few Turkish channels.

Antenna for a motorhome or travel trailer should be ordered and installed in Russia. You can go one of two ways, expensive and cheap.

Expensive

These antennas come in two types: with tracking mode and without.

The tracking version is suitable for a motorhome because passengers can remain inside and watch satellite channels while the vehicle is moving.

The non-tracking version is used on travel trailers. It costs a little less, and because nobody may travel inside a trailer, tracking while in motion is unnecessary.

Their main advantage is convenience. To configure the channels, just press one button – turn on the antenna engine. You can practically forget that it is there.

It does have drawbacks. This antenna can only be used in a completely open area. Even a minor obstruction, such as tree foliage, can prevent it from finding the satellite.

Also, these antennas are characterized by a type of converter operating in circular or linear polarization.

The diameters of such antennas can be from 40 to 90 cm.

Cheap option

The main advantage is its low price: it is 30-40 times cheaper.

In addition, if there are obstacles above the trailer or motorhome, it can always be moved to a more acceptable place.

Disadvantages: it takes up extra space in the trailer or motorhome during transport, it can be stolen, and setting it up takes time.
